At Pacific Ridge Builders, we believe in giving back to our community and supporting causes that matter. That’s why we’re honored to have been a part of the 1st Annual KoaStrong Golf Tournament, which raised an impressive $35,000 for vital research in early childhood cancer detection. KoaStrong’s mission focuses on funding research to identify early signs of cancer in otherwise healthy children—a crucial step toward improving prevention and treatment outcomes.
The funds raised through this inaugural tournament are directly supporting Baylor College of Medicine, Houston Texas, which is conducting groundbreaking research on children’s teeth. This study aims to uncover potential indicators or environmental factors in children’s dental health that could signal cancer risks early on. The findings could be transformative, enabling new preventative measures that could change the landscape of childhood cancer detection and improve future health outcomes.
A Message of Hope
Our own Natalie Vierra, Senior Project Engineer, shared her insights on KoaStrong’s mission and the role of early detection in the fight against childhood cancer:
“Through KoaStrong, we have learned that the cause of childhood cancer remains a discouraging challenge, yet prevention and early detection can change the story. By understanding environmental risk factors, promoting healthy lifestyles, and supporting early screening where feasible, we can improve outcomes for children. PRB is joining the fight in KoaStrong’s mission that every child deserves the opportunity to grow up healthy.”
Standing Together for Change
Pacific Ridge Builders extends heartfelt gratitude to KoaStrong, Baylor Medical University, and all event sponsors and participants who have come together for this vital cause. By joining forces, we are contributing to a future where early detection of childhood cancer is possible, offering hope and a healthier tomorrow for countless children and families.
We’re proud to stand alongside KoaStrong in their dedication to changing lives through prevention, research, and community support. Together, we’re building a legacy of health, hope, and resilience for the next generation.
